Sporty Royal Jordanian twins play in RVB International Friendship Tournament
The 1st RVB International Friendship Tournament took place on Sunday 1st December at Christ School in SW London and was hailed a great success, with enjoyable matches and a fun cultural experience for all. Tournament saw a visiting u15 Jordanian junior girls side (including two leading playing members of the Jordanian Royal Family) take on a selection of the Richmond Volleyball u14 junior girls team and a u18 team from West Thames Volleyball Club.
The ‘Friendship Tournament’ was won by Richmond Volleyball winning both their matches 25-17 ; 25-19 against West Thames VC in a very exciting and tense 2-1 thriller game against ABS Stallions 19-25; 27-29; 8-15.
The Friendship Programme also held joint club training sessions on Friday and Saturday with all teams led by David Rijvers & Jo Ronneboogh. Mohamad Hourani Athletics Director said, “We are very proud to have been associated with Richmond Volleyball and we aim to develop this new partnership and return next year with another competitive team.
