Richmond Docklands coast into round 3

Richmond Docklands travelled to Newmarket for the VE Cup second round match and returned with a resounding victory.  The squad was significantly depleted due to the Bello brothers participating in the Youth Olympic Games in Argentina, whilst nine club players were called to the England junior training camp.  The team battled through heavy traffic and pouring rain to barely make it in time for the warm up.

Top Spot in the League Tables for Richmond NVL Div2 Women

After their great performance last week away in Bristol and a very hard week training, Richmond NVL Div2 team played their first home match at Kingston Arena last Sunday vs Sussex Dolphins. They entertained the home crowd  with a 5-setter thriller and came away with a 3-2 victory (15-25, 25-16,25-21,19-25 and 15-8) to top the divisional table with two wins. Read More

Richmond Docklands start new season with disappointing loss

Richmond Docklands began the new Super League season with a disappointing 3-1 loss to Newcastle Staffs. The new league format sees the nine teams in the new Super League play each other once before Christmas. The league then splits in two for the remainder of the season. So the race to get into the top half of the league will be a tough one and every match will be crucial. On the opening day, Newcastle Staffs just had too much for the home side and deserved their first victory in the top tier for five seasons. Read More

3 Points in the Bag for Richmond NVL Div2 Women

Richmond storms to victory in their first bite of the Div 2 National league in Bristol. The team performed brilliantly and came away with a straight 3-0 win (25-15, 25-20, 26-24).

Some nervousness was evident at the beginning of the first set but after that the team implemented a well drilled game plan put in place by Head Coach Giorgio Scatigna “GSG” who said: “I am very proud of the team especially coming from 20-16 down in the third set to the well deserved victory”. After a short but intensive pre-season training period, Richmond Volleyball National League Division 2 Women’s Team is ready for their first away fixture vs Bristol on Sunday, 23 September.

The new team under experienced and charismatic Head Coach Giorgio Scatigna is welding together well known players from the last season’s junior national champions squad with Richmond senior  players returning  to NVL after playing in regional teams and  very keen newcomers.  Read More
