On a glorious weekend nearly 40 players can out to Barn Elms Sports Centre and contributed to the success of the 1st Series of Richmond Volleyball Beach Volleyball Tournaments (sponsored by Premier League 4 Sport and Fulham FC Foundation). It consists of two competitions open for all with Saturday (3-a-side for adults and juniors mixed) – level of play beginner/ intermediate /advance and on Sunday’s (2-a-side for adults and juniors mixed) level of play intermediate / advance. Richmond Volleyball didn’t win the medal they hoped for at the u15 National Junior Boys Championship Finals held at National Volleyball Centre (Kettering) but they were proud to get one in the end. From six teams (two groups of three teams), RVB U15 Boys finished second in their group and progressed to the semi-finals by losing against Boswell Academy (2-0) and then winning against Middleborough & Acklam VC (2-0). Volleyball England has launched its new Strategic Plan for the next four years. Predominantly funded by Sport England (£4.6m), the new plan sees a focus on specific investment areas across England targeting 14-25 year olds. Read More
