Richmond Juniors currently top the National Grand Prix

Our junior teams have had a stellar season so far and are currently top of the Volleyball England National Grand Prix. Last weekend saw our U16 Boys’ and Girls’ teams both secure the Golden Tickets to the Cup Final. Our 16s join the U18 Boys’ & Girls’ teams who secured their golden tickets a couple of weeks ago.

The support and energy from the crowd last weekend was amazing, and we look forward to hearing your loudest “Let’s go Richmond” during the finals weekend 23-24 April, in Kettering . Bring a crowd & make some noise … Tickets for the finals are available to buy through the Volleyball England website here.

Our U15s get their shot for the Golden Ticket in Round 3 on April 10, in Kettering. Our Tier 2 teams are also putting in a really strong performance. Our U18 boys’ team were promoted into the Tier 1 Bronze pool, and are currently placed 1st, whilst our U16 girls are placed 2nd in their pool. Next weekend we have 6 girls’ teams taking part in the U15 Tier 2 round 3. Good luck everyone.

Richmond Volleyball’s 10,000 Digs for Kids

We are the RVB Junior Girls and are raising funds for Teenage Cancer Trust because we want to help teenagers like ourselves.

Richmond Volleyball Club is very fortunate to have a fantastic group of teenage girls.  We have had a record number join this year after a difficult 18 months of little or no volleyball and they have been super busy honing their volleyball skills. More importantly, they have been learning the value of teamwork, making new friends, playing matches, experiencing the excitement of competition, getting loads of exercise and of course much, much more!!

In 2019, we raised £587 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.  Our challenge back then was to collectively perform 10,000 digs (a critical volleyball skill) during their training session.  They did it!!!  With pretty much a whole new set of beginners this year along with some seasoned veterans, we are aiming to hit that 10,000 digs goal again this year and raise funds for those teenagers who are in hospital with cancer.  The girls are really up for it but they really need your support.

The festive season is all about giving so tell all your friends, relatives, co-workers, neighbours, etc. to donate anything they can and help the girls SMASH their goal.  Any amount donated large or small is greatly appreciated so get the word out and help the team reach their goal by December 15th!
We want to wish everyone all the best over the Holidays and a very Happy New Year!

Thank you for your support! Richmond Volleyball Club

Richmond Winter Beach Series starts 24th October

The summer might be over, but we’re pleased to announce that registration to our popular series of winter beach tournaments is now open.

Taking place once a month between October and March, these tournaments are aimed at all levels and are fast paced – with maximum of 8 teams on 3 courts, this means you get lots of games with minimum amount of breaks. The format is 2v2 and there are mixed and single-gender events.

There are medals to be won for each event and prizes for the overall series winners.

In the last two years the series was unfortunately cut short due to the national lockdowns, but hopefully this year we can complete the series.

Well done to all our players this weekend. Richmond Bucks brought home a 3:0 win on Saturday, October 2nd, in their first-ever Division 1 match against Miners Doncaster. MVP of the game was Peter Soczewka with an amazing 71% effectiveness in attack. Well, done team, we’re really proud of you!

Saturday was also the first game of the season for our Super League Richmond Docklands team. It was a tough 4-set match against Durham who won 3:1 (24-26 | 25-16 | 25-13 | 25-21). Thank you to Durham for hosting.
