Another outstanding set of results that makes RVBers Juniors one of the strongest junior performing clubs in England!
After five days of exciting competition, the young English beach volleyball pairing Javier Bello and Joaquin Bello (ranked 12th in Europe) from Richmond VB London, finished 5th in the 2017 CEV U18 Beach Volleyball European Championship which ended on Sunday, 27th August in Kazan, Russia.
The young English beach volleyball pair from Richmond VB, London (Javier Bello and Joaquin Bello) is one step closer to completing their Olympic dream finishing 2nd at the u18 CEV Youth Beach Volleyball Continental Cup qualifier – Pool F, which ended on Sunday in Larnaca, Cyprus. They will now progress to the Continental Cup finals next year with 16 other European Countries and the top 5 countries will qualify to the 2018 Youth Olympic Games Beach Volleyball tournament in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Javier Bello and Joaquin Bello (Richmond VB) represented England Juniors and claimed England’s first ever gold medal at the u18 Commonwealth Youth Games Championships in 2017 Bahamas winning against Cyprus in the final.
England Juniors produced a dominant display of attacking volleyball winning all five matches and beating New Zealand (2-0) & Jamaica (2-0) in their pool matches, followed by wins in quarter finals against South Africa (2-0), Semi-Finals against Australia (2-0) and then claimed gold against Cyprus (2-0).
Talk to any successful beach volleyball player and they’ll tell you about the importance of building up a near-telepathic relationship with their partner. However, when your partner is also your twin brother, that sort of relationship can pretty much be taken for granted.
